I am still using SA 2.44. But after recent reports how much better de 2.55 edition with Bayes is, I thought I'd give it a try. So, I went to my port library, in FreeBSD 4.7R, and did:

Those line in the Makefile contain nothing out of the ordinary (as far as I can see):

I can't reproduce this on my 4.x systems, but it might be a bug in the port Makefile. File a FreeBSD PR with the send-pr command.
