I run a similar, if not identical config: inbound mail -> firewall SMTP proxy -> MailScanner -> Lotus Notes. Are the NDRs and errors filling up the root mailbox on the MailScanner box, or on the outbound SMTP proxy, or somewhere else? Here's what I get, in all its refulgent and resplendent glory, when I send mail from outside to a nonexistant address at work. In my case, the NDN was generated by Notes, and went directly from Notes to the outbound SMTP proxy in the firewall.
