I undersntad that that is the only thing that some corporate types will
support but it is very badly out of date. You will find shortly unless you
really know what you are doing and how to run a box that you wind more and
more things not working.
This is running on a generic Intel box. No warranty to void; I installed Linux. I've not seen anything in the documentation indicating this is a problem. If it is, then I am stuck with SA 2.55 for now. The computer is across the country in a co-lo. I cannot risk remotely upgrading everything.
So, SA 2.60 will only run with RH Linux > 7.3? I suspect it really is a problem with the version of Perl I am running. But there is no dependency for a particular version of Perl listed. (I am running v5.6.1 built for i386-linux.)

I have SA 2.60 running on RedHat 7.3 with Perl 5.6.1 ... there must be something else going on that's causing your problems.
keep in mind that I have SA integrated with Sendmail and MIMEDefang (via Milter) so i'm not using spamd / spamc as part of my implementation.
