I am using a shared server which has Spam Assassin 2.61 installed through
Control Panel. So my only access is the user config file. I wanted to change
some scores to hit specific spam I am getting but in analysing the messages
going through I have come to the following conclusions:

1. When I have the spam box enabled to divert tagged messages to a spam
folder, the scoring details are not inserted in the header on messages that
do not register as spam, though the score is there on spam. If I turn the
spam box off and let the mail go into the main account then the score is
there on all messages. Obviously I would like to see what the score is on
the non tagged messages and use the spam box. Is there anything I can do in
the user config to correct this or do I have to go back to the server admin
to change something?

2. Messages that go through several servers on the way, particularly those
that are diverted from an old account to my new one seem to score less than
those that come in directly. Whilst they appear to score correctly, nearly
every message that comes in this way scores only 2 or 3 points yet the same
or very similar messages that come in directly to the new account are scored
much higher and trigger the spam setting which I currently have at 5. Is it
possible that SA does not fully score messages that have long headers, in my
case there can be up to 15 received: headers on the message.

Sorry for what I am sure are very simple questions but I am just getting
used to this.

Many thanks

John
