Just remind your users that email is not instant messaging. :)
I realize that expectations and perceptions are difficult to manage with
users at times but this really does need to be driven home. The same
thing as people using email for file transfers.
I have been running greylisting here for some time and can also vouch
for its effectiveness. And combined with spamassassin it is almost 100%
successful at blocking spam.
Careful use of the whitelist for known good MTAs and you eliminate the
delay for most of your regular correspondents.
During initial setup it is well worth the time to analyze your logs and
pre-populate the whitelist for this reason.
