There probably is an FAQ, but the short version is that a 'rejection' is
done at SMTP time so the sender has to do something with the fact delivery
failed (ie: I want to send something to foouser; sorry foo user doesn't
exist). a 'bounce' occurs when the sender has already disconnected,
and the recipient wants to let the sender know that later delivery failed
(aka: a message gets generated and sent to the sender, ie: I want to send
something to foouser; ok I'll accept it and try to deliver it for you ...
<time goes by> oops, I can't deliver it, better let the sender know!).
