Can you telnet to port 8111 on localhost and do a manual POP3 session? If
you can't get that to work, nothing you can do via Thunderbird, SpamBayes or
Thunderbayes will help.

If you can get that to work, what about Thunderbird without either SpamBayes
or Thunderbayes? If you can get that to work, then how about the SpamBayes
POP3 proxy with Thunderbird? If *that* works, then try Thunderbird with the
Thunderbayes extension.

Finally, why are you using stunnel? ssh can do port forwarding. I wouldn't
think you'd need stunnel.
