I think it would be "My Downloads" for Vista & Win7. Previous to that, I forget what the default is (maybe "My Documents"), but regardless, the easiest way is to try and download again and it will default to the same location; the file will already be there and you can see where it is.
Also, if this is a Windows platform then the file is probably already waiting for you in the "My Recent Documents" menu (which is on the Start menu).
