shouldn't make much difference to spamcop, although it will almost certainly
hide the source, so only the relay (proxy) will be reported...

socks is a proxy server... if you've only got one computer on your network
with an internet connection, then you can have the other computers
communicate with the rest of the world via the socks proxy...

the relationship to bulk email is that some people leave their socks proxies
unsecured, so anyone in the world can use them as a proxy (for example, to
send bulk email), rather than just the local users...
