Hmm... it's hard to make any suggestions based on the information you gave
us. Can you post a more detailed description of what happened? Are you
and your friend on the same email server?
In general, a hacker can masquerade as anyone on the Internet, and use
someone else's contact info as a red herring.
No, there's no way to absolutely prove it wasn't you unless you can get all
the Internet servers involved to give you the log files showing who did the
crime.
