Google's CalDAV support isn't intended for end-users. In fact, they
expressly state that it's a "developer release" which they "strongly
suggest you restrict to test accounts only".
Beyond that, there are a number of reasons to use Spanning Sync
instead of CalDAV. They're listed in the Spanning Sycn FAQ at
http://spanningsync.com/faq
