I'm having the same problem. If Apple's Sync Services only supports read-only access to CalDAV iCal calendars, then how does sync with an iPhone through iTunes work for these calendars? I'm assuming that iTunes still uses Sync Services, and I know that I can add appointments to my iPhone and have them added to a MobileMe calendar when I sync (again through iTunes, not directly to MobileMe). Is there somewhere we can get more of an explanation from Apple about this new limitation? It seems like a *huge* restriction to impose on tools like Spanning Sync. Downgrading to the old MobileMe calendar is pretty painful if, like me, you've been using the new one for a while and have added a lot of appointments since the switch.
