Folks:
The recent kernels on the vger cvs server do not run on my machine.
The problem is that when the kernel boots, it hangs when the startup
scripts run ifconfig. With earlier kernels, ifconfig would produce
the message ``eth0: Carrier Lost, trying TPE,'' but no such message
appears with the recent kernels.
Replacing drivers/net/sunlance.c with the version from the released
2.1.129 kernel on tsx-11 fixes the problem.
My hardware is a Sparc 5 using TP ethernet.
