On a sparc, the mixer device is pretty stupid. you can have only one input
and a simple combination of outputs active, but for the outputs, they're
not individually controllable. the media player should work unless you
already confused the audio stuff (the stuff in that kernel had some bugs
in the mixer code, but if you grab an audio snapshot from
ftp.dementia.org:/pub/linux/sparc/audio and compile, those should be
fixed.)
if it doesn't work, uh.... get audioctl from same place as above, and see
what audioctl -a says. is it sane? does straceing the media player show
you anything? i'll be happy to help, but not this week: the terminal room
at LISA is not an ideal way to read email
