Hi,

I'm using a SPARCclassic X, and I can't seem to get the scsi controller to
work. It just doesn't work at all in linux. If I don't get the "eps0: can't use
my espdma" message, I get an Ooops "Unable to handle kernel paging request at
virtual address fd015000" and so on. If it's of any help, I can write this
down, but ... oh well, I think I'll have to carry on of those 20" monitors
around, and I find them terribly heavy.

I can do things like "test /iommu/sbus/espdma/esp/sd@2,0" (no output)
while test .../sd@3,0 or others return "SCSI device 3,0 is not responding".
"boot /iommu..../sd@2,0" will read something off the disk and complain about
"bad magic number", missing disk label package etc., so I assume that the scsi
controller and the drive both work alright.

That's what the kernel (2.0.35, 2.0.36, 2.2.0-pre-7 with DaveM's patches, and
-pre8 from a vger snapshot) has to say about it:

[...]
Jan 25 21:19:36 Sunergy kernel: sbus0: Clock 25.0 MHz
Jan 25 21:19:36 Sunergy kernel: dma0: unknown dma version f0000000
                                                          ^^^^^^^^
That's c000000 sometimes. Seems to depend on the kernel I use.

Jan 25 21:19:36 Sunergy kernel: dma1: Revision 2
[...]
Jan 25 21:19:36 Sunergy kernel: esp0: can't use my espdma
Jan 25 21:19:36 Sunergy kernel: ESP: Total of 1 ESP hosts found, 0 actually in
use.

Unrelated to this, the machine also ooopses on me when using the SUN12x22 font
(which is unbearably slow with the onboard cg3) as soon as getty is to be
started. After ~300 lines of Ooops, a getty really starts.

This oops is easier to write down, as it gets written to the log files...
