Well, I installed RH 6.0 on a Sparcstation 5 and had the problem
with X freezing, so I pulled down the kernel updates from RH.
Now I have no problems with X freezing, because it won't even
start! What I see is the "white screen of death" :)
On the console I see:
[root@host etc]# startx
(using VT number 7)
_FontTransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 61
failed to set default fong path 'unix/:-1'
could not open default font 'fixed'
X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

This worked before I installed the new kernel RPM's... The only
RPM's that I downloaded were the ones on the errata site (which
I can't access right now) for kerne-* and egcs-*
