Hi,
On my Sparc Classic running Redhat 5.2 I don't seem to be able to add a default route.
When issuing the command
route add default 10.65.1.1
I get the error
SIOCADDRT: Operation not supported by device
unless I have forgotten the syntax to add a route on a Linux box.
Entering 'dmesg' I see that there is another error there:
eth0: Carrier Lost, trying TPE
I have also used my NT machines network cable which uses a different
port on our switch, but the same errors are returned. I had a similar error
on a PC with Linux a few years ago, but I think I had to change the IRQ
of the network card for that.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Robert
