Hello, I am a new user of Redhat Linux and have no experience with X-Terminals. Up to now I used Intel architektures with SuSE (German Distribution) Linux 6.0. Since friday last week I am using a SPARCstation 10 and I am quiet satiesfied. Now I have the possibility to get another couple of used Sparc Classic X-Terminals (terminal not diskless workstation). In the hardware comp. list these terminals seem to be supported by Redhat 6.0. Here come the two questions: 1. Our terminals have 8MB memory. What do I have to do in order to run Redhat Linux on these terminals? 2. Some terminals (e.g. from Tektronix as far as I know) have their own window manager which is running on the client terminal processor. If this is correct, is it possible to do the same thing with KDE or Gnome and Redhat Linux? The solution of running the window manager on the client has the advantage the host does have to have big hardware resources (that is a CPU). So would it be possible to run KWM on the terminal processor? But of course the other applications would run on the host. Thank You for suggestions!
