At my office, we've recently begun to use Backup Express
from Syncsort (http://www.syncsort.com), after spinning
our wheels with ArcServe for some time. So far we've been
pretty happy with it; it has been remarkably trouble-free
as backup systems go. Backup Express does support Linux
as a client, but I don't know for sure if it handles
SPARC/Linux... give them a call, anyway.
[As an aside, ArcServe was much better when Chyenne was
independant; Computer Associates basically destroyed what
was a decent company to work with, to the point that it
was virtually impossible even to get them to give us a
price for the latest version of their product].
