Let's cut to the chase-- use the XF86_FBDev Xserver
on JavaStations.
Many moons ago, I modified the PS/2 mouse and kbd
drivers so that they would work with the Xsun server
on the MrCoffee JavaStation, but this required both
Xserver modifications and driver modifications and
was not the optimal approach.
Instead, grab the XFree86 source RPMs and build the
XF86_FBDev framebuffer. If you are using a later 2.2
kernel (contains a small but necessary patch to sbusfb.c)
you will have no problems with this Xserver.
I believe Pete has basic instructions on his website
regarding this, however it should be noted that you do
not need to hunt around for the UltraPenguin XFree source
RPM as indicated-- the latest RedHat source RPM will do just fine.

No, I've used an existing root where previously was installed redhat on a
SS4.
