A friend of mine has a 690MP, and would like to give Linux a try on it.
We've tried installing Debian 2.1 (booting from CD)... it goes along until
it tries to find drives, and then just forever probes... evidently there
is no such support for the SCSI card in that machine. So there are a few
questions:
Does Linux support the Differential SCSI controller? (I could get Sun P/N
if needed) Does Linux support any Diff SCSI at all? I'm assuming it would
be rather standard with the 690MP.
It has 2 processors and can support up to 4. Is this an SMP machine?
Furthermore, can Linux work with such a machine in more-than-one-processor
mode?
