Good evening.
First I'd like to give another hearty "Good job!" to all who are
responsible for the wonderful SPARC port of Linux, as well as 2.2.14,
which has given me sound support with my SPARCstation LX and through my
speakerbox!!
I've been able to successfully play .au's, and as an added bonus even
mp3's. Both very quietly... .wavs I've been unable to clearly play, but
those can easily be converted into .au's. My main question now is volume.
I know that audio support is still sketchy and that I'm lucky even to have
the sound I have, and I am grateful for it. I am wondering if there is a
way to set the 'default' volume to something a bit higher... I've looked
in /usr/src/linux/drivers/sbus/audio/ in the dbri.h and cs4215.h headers
files and saw nothing to do with volume (mixer, etc.) but perhaps I
overlooked something.
If this is at all possible, I'd love to have a little louder sound. Again
thank you and good job to all who made it possible.
