There probably aren't too many other people out there running Linux on a
SparcServer 1000, so the problem may well be unique to my setup:

        - 4 CPU SparcServer 1000E
        - 256 MB RAM
        - 6 SBus qlogicpti Fast/Wide SCSI controllers
        - 28 SCSI discs off those 6 controllers

On the other hand, the machine seems to run _flawlessly_ in SMP and
uniprocessor mode on 2.2.12, 2.2.14, and 2.2.15, doing everything BUT
software RAID, so I'm wondering if perhaps my configuration is exposing
something in the RAID code...
