You don't need to call smstart at all. First of all, check your registry,
which is in $CF_HOME/siteminder/windu/.windu.hostname. Check all of the data
in this directory. This data should not be edited manually, this data must
be edited using regedit. If you have a backup of the original regsitry data,
copy that, then kill the smservaz and smservauth processes. Then restart
Coldfusion and your system should work properly.

You can't simply call the smstart script. You should have another script in
the same directory called cfsmstart (and one called cfsmstop as well). That
one will pass the correct FLEXlm stuff to Siteminder.

Are you using NDS as a Siteminder repository? I didn't know anyone had done
that successfully.
