///// The Big Trip ///// ///// Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow ///// Five residencies for emerging artists working with contemporary technological culture. ++ Deadline: Friday 24th August 5pm ++ SPACE is looking for applications from UK based emerging artists for two connected rounds of Permacultures residencies at The White Building in Hackney Wick. The residencies are for artists who question our understanding of the world through the very technologies that we use to access and form it. Two residencies will take place in Autumn 2012 (The Big Trip) and three residencies in Spring 2013 (Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow). Taking their titles from one short story by Kurt Vonnegut, these two connected rounds of residencies take their cue from storytelling, or more precisely, sharing stories in a world of endless information, and seemingly unsparing, efficient competition. This is storytelling within the world of the meta, of the constructed media realities, and the blurring of fact and fiction. Each residency receives use of the residency studio in The White Building, a fee, a production budget and support to realise new artwork. Selection Panel: Damien Roach (Artist).
