I have not been able to find out if there is Linux support for
TrapExploder.

Hi Daniel

When you go to the support site, you can get the support matrix for
Trapx, will send the infor directly. Linux is supported ( Suse )

I will send the URL

It is rather strange that redhat is not supported anymore, . It will
not mean it would not runon redhat. eg kernel version

Another way is to keep your trapx on a small windows box and forward the
traps to Spectrum.
I ow own enviroment I still need trapx for for translating traps from
Natted enviroments, to translate the agent pdu source to the (net)
ethernet source, and then forward towards Spectrum
( for small remote natted locations, which are to small for SDM - SDC
architecture ). I have trapx running on Solaris, together with eHealth.
Spectrum running smooth on Redhat.

I had some experience with a few open-source translater, trap handlers,
but ran into issues with scalability, eg handling x/traps per second.

Subject: [spectrum] trap and syslog handling

All

I am upgrading my Spectrum environment from a Windows based world to
Linux.

As part of that upgrade - I plan to replace my trap/syslog gateway with
Linux as well. Currently, on the Windows box I use KIWI for syslogs and
Concord TrapExploder for trap handling.

In the Linux world - I will move to syslog-ng for syslog handling but I
have not finalized a tool for rules based trap filtering. I have not
been
able to find out if there is Linux support for TrapExploder.

Any product suggestions??

CA's Event Integration Service would fit the bill but the Spectrum 9
version wont be out till next year some time.
