Spectrum is a hog when it comes to discovery. It will discovery everything that it can find in the ifmib entry table, and port types. Most of it is useless to monitor anyways since you will never see alerts on these since there is no additional snmp instrumentation to create alerts, or do further analysis on anyways. Go through and delete what is not needed to monitor, and create a policy rule so that they will never be discovered.
This will keep the number of models down and allow you to add more devices on the server. CA support informed us that this is due to the high number of routers we are monitoring. We are currently monitoring around 100 Cisco routers (including the interfaces) and this number will grow very quickly in the upcoming few months. Are there any limitations on the number of routers that we can manage from spectrum? What is that limit?
