Hi,

yes, and if the IP address is on subinterface, subinterface will never go
down.

RE: [spectrum] IP redundancy

Hello,

If an interface goes down, it’s ok, but if the ip address is not
accessible because of a change of routing or have been destroy, the
interface if OK, but it can’t respond to the ping

Hello,

Isn’t it the case by default? If an interface goes down, you will get a
trap and so potentially an alert depending of your policies.

In our case, we disabled IP redundancy feature because we manage device
via loopback interface and so it’s a non sense to keep it on. (In 9.0 it’s
disabled by default from what I’ve heard).

But I’m new to spectrum so if I’m wrong do not hesitate to tell it.

Regards,

Subject: [spectrum] IP redundancy

Hi everyone,

I've got Spectrum 8.1 installed and a question regarding IP redundancy
subview. When, let's say router, is modelled with one IP address and there
are 4 more addresses under 'Redundancy Preferred Addresses' is there a way
to generate an alarm when one of these redundant addresses is unavailable?

How many IP addresses are collected from the router and displayed under
'Redundancy Preferred Addresses'? Is there a limit?

Regards,
