We've been using TrapExploder for several years, and it is pretty flexible and robust. It allows for filtering, logging, and local script execution, which is all very helpful when using traps outside of Spectrum or when adding new trap support to Spectrum. You can forward to any port on any host. It handles trap storms fine. The biggest issue that I have with it is that it is limited to snmp v1 only. We have switched entirely to snmp v3 polling, and we would like to move to v3 traps/informs, but we would have to find a replacement for TrapExploder first. There are apparently no plans to add v3 support for TrapExploder.
