Hi Bruce, list, it's difficult to say what would be the right way - but your approach seems as if it should work.
Would you mind sharing your edited xml files? Most of our non-working xmls are caused by typos, wrong or too-short logic, etc. Sharing your files will bring the solution - I'm sure about that. If it's impossible to send the files I'd probably build the expression to match the ModelHandle of the server, with the disadvantage that you have to edit it again if the model will be re-modeled in future. But if the server gets a new IF (because of damage or whatever) you also have to edit it if matching the MAC.
