You are mixing up two things here. a) The policy search criteria: (usually "network_link_type"!="no link" - for modeled links) which seem not to apply to your case and
b) The policy settings (ok_to_poll / poll_port_status) which is definitely what you want to use. With regards to a you have two options: - Don't use policy manager, but set the attributes manually via Attribute editor - Connect fanouts to the ports you want to monitor and for which you don't have a connection modeled yet. - Hope that helps! However there are ports which we want to monitor which might not have a downstream device modelled in SPECTRUM, in this case I cannot use those policy. After more research I have found the following - If a device in SPECTRUM is put in maintenance, the isManaged attribute of only the device model is changed and none of the interfaces of the device change their isManaged attribute (even the primary interface through which the device is monitored). I willl be opening a ticket with CA to confirm on this. and if this is FAD, I plan to write a policy based on port search criteria to update the attributes. Saurabh. If the ports does not change much you can also use the Attribute Editor instead of Policy Manager.
