We just installed a handful of the sensorProbe2 this summer, but I haven't gone very far integrating them into Spectrum. I made a custom model type with the MIB and then waited for feedback as to what feature people wanted next. We get syslog alerts for temperature and humidity, we get SNMP traps too, and I'm just waiting for my customers to tell me what they want to see first. Historical graphs? Spectrum alarms? Email? (So far, the answer I've gotten is "call this number" and I've had to explain that, while possible, that is not the sort of automation I recommend.)
We also have netBotz, now owned by APC, installed in our data centers, but the price for those varies wildly (usually significantly more than the sensorProbes)! The netBotz are *very* reliable, but for what we were doing this summer, cost was an issue. So far, with about 20 installed, the sensorProbe 2's have been ticking along just fine, which is much better than I can say for the other "cheap" temperature sensors we tried. As I make progress on this front, I'll share it here. - Joni --On December 3, 2009 11:55:49 AM +0100 Fritz Buetikofer <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Oliver > > Last year we have introduced the first AKCP sensors on our network > and we have then imported the AKCP mib into our spectrum servers. > We have not yet created OneClick views for them, but if you check our > web-server at the address: > http://aragorn.unibe.ch/spectrum/ftp/Spectrum-8.1/ > you will find the AKCP e-File and mib description there.
