I am wondering how folks are monitoring HP-UX 11 with Spectrum. I use Spectrum 9.1, but solutions for other versions should work too. The native HP-UX SNMP agent does not properly support RFC 2790 monitoring of processes or file systems. I’ve read online that other agents (such as NET-SNMP) may be installed to “supplement” the HP-UX agent, but I’d like to hear directly from someone who is successfully monitoring HP-UX processes and file systems in production now, and how they are configured to do this (for example, what is installed, and how is it configured, such as which UDP ports each agent listens to).
