Hey Wylie, What kind of device are you getting this for? I think the Chassis down alarm was introduced in 9.1.2 for HP Blade chassis systems and maybe some other chassis based devices. In 9.2 this has been extended to include chassis systems from other vendors like Cisco. The behaviour should be that if all devices in a chassis (including management of the chassis itself) are down, you get one chassis down alarm instead of multiple stopped responding to poll alarms. This should get you more accurate alarms. If you get the alarm for non-chassis devices, I think it's best to create a ticket for this so they can fix this. I don't know if there is an easy way to get the multiple stopped responding alarms back. But if you just want to replace the single chassis down alarm for a stopped responding alarm (for every occurence), you can just grab the stopped responding event and probable cause files and put them in the right place in the $SPECROOT/custom directory with the event/alarm id for the chassis down alarm. It will still have it's seperate event and cause id, but in the alarm view it will look like the same alarm. If you also want the regular cause id, you should also create or edit the eventdisp file in the custom directory and link the chassis down event to the stopped responding cause id. Let me know if you need more specifics.

Anyone else notice that now there are "CHASSIS DOWN" Alarms for events that would have been "Device Has Stopped Responding to Polls". Is this the normal for 9.2? Anyone aware of how to return to only "Device Has Stopped Responding to Polls"?
