Hi,

as Christoph said, the configs reside as models with specific attributes
in the database. In former days, the attribute in question held the
configuration as an octet string representing the configuration in ASCII
format just as the switch/router was delivering it. When I updated from
9.1.2 to 9.1.3H14, I realized a change in the format, it is not ASCII
anymore, I have a case with our partner open for this.

As with every model, once you destroy it via GUI, it should jump into
Lost&Found; when destroying via CLI, it should be gone.

"Physically" speaking, I guess there will be remaining data in the
Berkeley DB (SSdb) for an amount of time, but I know of no way to recover
it. The model handles will not be re-used until you reach your limit of
(hex) 0xfffff models, but the deleted models themselves will not be
manageable any more.

Freundliche Grüße / Best regards

Christian Fieres

RE: Antwort: [spectrum] AW: Host configs deletion

Thanks to all you guys. Just wondering if I’ll delete all config files
physically. Will it work?

Subject: Antwort: [spectrum] AW: Host configs deletion

Guys, list,

I think this is the same as with interfaces. Both interfaces and
configuration models are associated with the device model (HASPART,
HAS_LAST_KNOWN_CONFIG), and as soon as a model is destroyed, its
associations with other models naturally cease to exist, resulting in an
empty Interfaces tab or, respectively, in an empty Host Configuration tab.
To be absolutely sure, I would take a device model with a relatively
static configuration, say, there's only two historic ones, and try and
delete those three models using CLI, before and after that I would export
an associaton and attributes value list of this device model and compare
the two pairs of files after deletion. This way, you can be sure
everything related to a possible connection between device and
configuration model is deleted safely.

Hello,

the Host Configurations are own models in the SpectroServer database. Name
and Modeltype Handle:

MTH Name
0x820004 HostConfiguration

I don’t know if you can delete them without complications.

Regards

Betreff: [spectrum] Host configs deletion

Hello team,

want to clear all of my spectrum device configs and start collecting them
again. I moved appropriate files physically from Export Directory to
another one. But it looks like it doesn’t work. Still able to view old
configs in Host Configuration tab.

Should I change Export Directory setting to some new empty directory?
Would you please share your knowledge with me.
