Hi pilota, list, the tcpConnTable is part of the TCP-MIB which in term is part of MIB2. Those are modeled as application sub models subordinate to the device models in the SSdb. You did not specify what you intend by "monitor closewait connections" (e.g. >number of< or >is present< or ...). However, you could set up a watch per model_type on the TCP1_App. The watch might look like this:
type : bolean expression : tcpConnState.# == 8 evaluation : by polling threshold : == TRUE If you define to create events instead of alarms, then you'll be able to create and clear dedicated alarms per row (tcp connection) based on variable discrimination. Be warned! If a device holds 5000 tcp connections regardless of state, the table contains 5000 rows (indexed by something like " 127.0.0.1.25.0.0.0.0.0" which is local addr.local port.remote addr.remote port). If you set up the watch for active polling, then the device will be queried to deliver that 5000 rows of information every defined poll intervall. Even more dangerous: if you set the watch to be active by default, that all devices that support this MIB will be polled that way. This will add a significant performance burden to the devices and your SpectroSERVERs. Check out the Spectrum documentation for SpectroWATCH and Event Configuration.
