Hi, Upgrade Spectrum is quite easy. I usually copy SSDb backup from previuos version to new install area (it should be not compressed and it should be copied to $SPECROOT/SS/dbsavefile.SSDb). If you want to play with Report Manager I recommend you to copy also DDMdb to $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/dbsavefile.DDMDb. The Install User Guide describes this process quite well.
Migrate Reporting Datatabase is another story. Probably, best thing is to migrate DDMDb and start a new reporting db. When you do this, you get a fresh complete inventory and an alarm/event/outage history for the number of days that are stored in DDMDb. Other option is to use the import procedure offered to you during OneClick server installation. If you choose to import an old reporting db from a remote system you have to have in mind some issues: - When you use this precedure, the install process modify some table structure from old reporting db. After that, your OneClick 8.1 will not work fine anymore. - The importing precess can last for 12h or more. - If for any reason your process is interrupted, you'll get nothing. - Immediately after installing 9.2, upgrade to H03. Previous versions don't work!!! Good luck. James. On Tue, Mar 8, 2011 at 10:05 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: > Well, you can actually convert 8.1 SSDb with 9.2 fresh install.
