Hi, I have no experience with IBM Storage devices, but Spectrum doesn't have an specific model type for that system. So it's using a generic SNMP device and therefore you can manage only standard MIBs.
You need to customize your model. There are several options: - Create your complete model type. It's hard and time consuming task. You need to use Model Type Editor and of course to read Spectrum_Model_Type_Editor_User_ENU.pdf - Personalize the GenSNMPDev model type. I recommend you to follow this method because it's easier and usually you get all you want. You have to accomplish two kinks of tasks: 1) If you are only interested in alarms, you can work with traps. So you'll have to configure your IBM Storage to send traps to Spectrum and then map this traps to events and alarms. Best way to do this is to import the IBM's MIBs where traps are defined into Spectrum with MIBTools (Spectrum_Certification_User_ENU.pdf) and map interested traps in events and alarms. If you want more complex correlation rules, you'll have to use use Event Configuration (Spectrum_Event_Configuration_User_ENU.pdf) to finish your work. 2) If you are also interested in showing private values in your OneClick interface (for example your storage disks and partitions), you need to import more MIBs into Spectrum and then map important OIDs into attributes (Spectrum_Certification_User_ENU.pdf). Finally create OneClick views with xml in your $SPECROOT/custom folder (Spectrum_OneClick_Customization_User_ENU.pdf). I think you are going to have fun time for long time :-). Regards. James.
