Hey Raj, First a little about trap processing in SPECTRUM. SPECTRUM processes traps in a couple of different ways. If the trap is coming from a device that has not been modeled, SPECTRUM will log an event under the VNM model. If Trap-based Discovery is enabled, SPECTRUM will attempt to discover and model the device that sent the trap. If the trap is coming from a device that is already modeled by SPECTRUM and the trap has not been mapped, then an event will be logged under that particular device model. If the trap is coming a known device and mappings are in place for the trap, then SPECTRUM will perform actions specified in the trap mappings files (alertMap, eventDisp, pcause, etc.). Secondly, it sound like you are asking how we can see what traps are coming in to the box itself. If that is the case, then the only way to see those would be to 'snoop' or 'sniff' the line for whatever port you've told SPECTRUM to accept traps on. If you want to see what is leaving the device on the other end, then you would need to 'snoop' or 'sniff' that side. HTH.....
