We have eHealth doing LAN utilization checks. When it detects over 90% utilized it sends the live exception to spectrum.
Spectrum gets the alert and knows it relates to the model, but does not apply the alert to the model. I.e. Server1-eth0 in eHealth has a 99% LAN utilization. Alert is sent to spectrum. Spectrum server model "Server1" gets the alert and it shows up in the Alarms view. Model server1 does not change to red though. Why not? This has something to do with default behavior of not applying port alerts to a model. (Generate Alarm on Port = yes, Generate Alarm on Device = No) What is the logic for this? We have SANM policy for critical alerts to be sent via email. Since this alert is not applied to the model, no email is sent. Why would you not want the model to get the alert applied to it by default? Is this something to do with spectrum originally being a network equipment monitoring system?
