Hello Christopher, we handle this with multiple external linux based virtual machine with the nagios checkcommands. With the check_http plugin and a simple scheduled script you are able to monitor http responses. We´ve installed the vnmsh, too. We´re generating alarms via the vnmsh on the webservers model. You also can send formatted snmp traps. Your choice :)
