Spectrum User Group: We have several notification applications that we feel can be addressed by use of the Spectrum Alarm Notifier. We have the "default" Alarm Notifier function running in our development environment, using an Application & Policies to select landscapes, severity, device type, collections, Alarm Type etc. . . . and can generate "emails" by the thousands via the set, update, & clear scripts.
Now to our applications: Our first application is to send "selected" network alarms to another application using an SNMP trap The second application is to send "selected" network alarms to another application by writing that alarm information to a file on another application system Another application is to send "selected network alarms to our On Call Business Paging application We plan to run our Alarm Notifier functions from a primary/secondary SS pair running on Windows 2003. All our monitoring SS pairs run on Linux. Can someone share their experience and methodology to help us get started with some simple examples of our Alarm Notifier applications? We have not yet found the documentation that helps to select the data elements of the alarm and or examples of writing that information to a trap, file, or communication connection to another server. Any assistance would be appreciated.
