Hello Rob, adding the VLAN contexts to the V3 group will help you, but not all Cisco developers know this.
VLAN contexts are not supported on switches with IOS version 12.1. (e.g. Catalyst2950) Support for Nexus devices should come in 2013. Says Cisco... Specifically when discovering an Access Switch running SNMPV3, I am getting virtually NO servers resolved to the ports on that switch. After grinding this out in a call with Cisco and CA support we discovered that Cisco does not publish VLAN data under SNMPV3 as it does in SNMPV2. This is actually mentioned in the Spec Doc "Cisco Device Mgmt Guide" at the end of Chap 1. This has been an issue in the Solarwinds camp as well: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/16450 I was wondering if anybody using Spectrum has run into this yet as well? I have requested our Network folks add the VLAN contexts to the V3 Group so I can test, but as of yet they haven't completed the change. Interested to know your experiences.
