I'm unable to continue with this error as well, on Solaris. Did you find a
solution?

I haven't try to start my Spectrum yet...

Hello Fritz,

It looks like a bug in our install checker functionality. At the very least the
pop up error message should tell you which applications it wants you to
shutdown.

The applications it should be checking for on Linux/Solaris are:
processd,SCP,LocServer, ArchMgr, nameserv, telnetd spectrum, ncmservice, mysqld
spectrum, SpectroSERVER, VnmShd, java OneClick.

If all of these instances (not just the Spectrum version of them) are shutdown
and install will still not work, please open a support issue so we can get
engineering involved to help resolve.

Hello Rene

I downloaded SP2 for Solaris 9 last week and tried to update our
test server to 9.2-SP2 … and failed ;-((

I tried to install with the Spectrum environment UP (SS down, but LocServer and
other apps running) and also without the Spectrum environment. In both scenarios
the error message was the same:

… there is no process mentioned in the pop-ip mesage that should be up; so I
assume
the new process-checker on Solaris has something broken !

The other bad thing is, that after the install of SP2 has failed, I am not able
anymore
to startup the SCP gui to restart the old 9.2-H07 version. The error message in
the
SCP.OUT file is:

streicher> cat SCP.OUT
Thu Aug 02 08:42:22 MEST 2012: SPECTRUM Control Panel started.
Thu Aug 02 08:42:41 MEST 2012: SPECTRUM installation detected, exiting.

.. which means, that I am blocked out twice !!!

###

Is there any way to start the installer on Solaris without the new
process-check ?

Thank you and best regards,

--Fritz.

Hello Everyone,

Spectrum 9.2 Service Pack SP02 (aka H08) is now available for customer download.

A news item announcement with highlights of what is included in 9.2.2 can be
found on our product home page at
https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/prddtlshome?prdhmpgform=p&productID=7832 .

Customers can download from two sources;
>From support.ca.com -
>https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/anonymous/phpdocs?filePath=0/7832/7832_92_patchindex.html
>From ftp.ca.com<ftp://ftp.ca.com/> -

Since cutting the DVD iso image the Release Notice (SRN) has been updated with
two additional special consideration items #21 and #22. The Solaris PTF patch
for #22 is available from the same ftp.ca.comarea<ftp://ftp.ca.comarea/> as
9.2.2 itself (/pub/CA-SPECTRUM/Updates/GA/Spectrum_09.02.02.00).

In addition to these two special considerations, the support team is working on
the following issues with our sustaining engineering team;

1. Original DVD iso image was corrupt.
a. What is available today is good.
2. Solaris crash, found in late QA tests.
a. PTF_9.2.201 is available from ftp.ca.com<ftp://ftp.ca.com/> site
mentioned above.
3. RedHat 5.8 crash after installing 9.2.2.
a. Temp workaround: replacing the default MTS version of the SpectroSERVER
executable with the non-MTS version (shipped) resolves the problem. Please
contact the support team if help is needed.
4. OneClick/Tomcat upgrade, tomcat will not start after upgrade.
a. Support actively working with SE on workaround, root cause and solution.
Please contact the support team if you are experiencing this issue.
5. Install stopping running non-Spectrum mysql process.
a. Support actively working with SE on solution for next hotfix, temp
workaround is to shutdown what install is requesting in order to start the
9.2.2 install.
