Hi all, Should’ve posted this earlier… Windows Server 2008 R2 has a bug which means it ignores any WaitToKillServiceTimeout registry setting anyway, and squashes everything almost immediately at shutdown time. There is a patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2549760
I expect Jon, raiser of this thread , is aware of this by now. Otherwise, worth putting on the O/S patch! ". Ali's answer to your specific point was: "on windows, it is suggested to increase registry key "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" from default 20 seconds to something more appropriate to give SS enough time to shut down when system is shut down. 20 sec. may not be enough because processd waits for all other sub-processes to shut down before it shuts down completely." Every time our servers gets new updates they reboot, this is set by a policy. It seems that spectrum receives a shutdown signal and tries to shut down, but the os doesn't give spectrum enough time to shut down properly. This result of this is that the Spectroserver shows up with the state terminated in SCP. The db has lock files and cannot start automatically. Is it a way to get windows to wait longer than the default time. Anyone who has a solution?
