Bonjour fellow Spectroservians, We have a requirement here to route SysEdge-monitored object alarm emails to different groups based on the resource. As an example, for our Unix systems, if the /var parition fills up, we need to email the Unix sysadmins. However, if it were /opt/oracle, or /home/sybase, we would need to email the DBA team. We had tried setting up additional Events, using Event Rules off the primary Aggregate State Change event - 0x1169462. There are two issues doing this:
1. If we leave the Alarm setting on for the original event, then there are two alarm emails and two alarms posted to the OneClick console. Spectrum will email the 0x1169462 alarm every time. We prefer that if a custom event is called, the original event should not alarm, but Spectrum does not do this. 2. If we turn off the Alarm on 0x1169462, we need to create one extra custom Event, the "none-of-these-other-custom-events" Event, which will generate an Alarm if none of the other custom Events matches the parameters. The problem then becomes ensuring that the extra custom Event always is triggered, and only is triggered, if none of the other custom Events is triggered. This is simple if we have a single digit worth of such Events, but we expect to have dozens. I do hope my explanation of our issue is clear, and that other groups using Spectrum with SysEdge have ideas that can guide us to an efficient and effective solution.
