Did you see any error message in $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/ARCHMGR.OUT? Is the new system in production already?
There are two paths you can take: 1. Re-import Ddmdb after optimizing (might cut down size a little bit - if not already done else try second path if it is an option) a. On the existing Spectrum server run maintenance scripts for ddm - db_optimize.pl and db_maintenance.pl (See Database guide) b. Create checksum for the file, transfer to destination and verify checksum on the destination (I have seen corruptions in transferring a single big file). c. Load it again and keep eye on ARCHMGR.OUT. 2. Re-install new server (if this is an option) a. Un-install existing installation. b. On the existing Spectrum server run maintenance scripts for ddm - db_optimize.pl and db_maintenance.pl (See Database guide) c. Create checksum for the file, transfer to destination and verify checksum on the destination (I have seen corruptions in transferring a single big file). d. Refer to migrate and upgrade section (chapter 3 in the Installation guide) e. Create directory structure for DDMdb and then do the install. Our SPECTRUM partner advises me to give it at least 30 minutes, just wanted to check if anyone has experiences with moving DDM-Dbs that big from one machine to another - and especially what happens when you start ArchMgr for the first time. I mean, the database files are there, there is nothing obvious ArchMgr has to do compared to an installation that had this DDM DB already up - so what takes that long or do I have a problem?
