Hey, I rise and clear alarms based on event discriminator (1).
The usage: I have a sensor (modelled linux box with netSNMP) which tracks availability to websites and reports via traps if they are down or up (var1 carries number, var2 carries corresponding url, for ex: 10 - www.google.com, 11 - www.yahoo.com, ...) Now I want to create services for these URLs: to build per each var value a service which would react to a particular alarm's discriminator. The long way I can do - is to program event/alarm per value of variable, as services do not allow to be triggered per particular value of alarm var. Anyone knows other way to deal with this? Maybe it is possible to encode the alarm value into service-policy/ruleset somehow?
