We recently went to HF12 and immediately had problems with SANM. They just
(yesterday) sent us a hotfix for the hotfix! which seems to have resolved the
issue

Hi James,

9.2 and 9.3 are two separate releases.

The latest hotfix cumulative patch for the 9.2 release stream is H12. What
went into H12 is either already in 9.3.0 or coming in hotfix H01.

We would love to see customers move to the latest release 9.3.0 but understand
it may not be doable until H01 is available.

Most customers that I have talked to who are at 9.2.3 are opting for the 9.3.0
upgrade with H01 so they only have to go through the process once.

I would recommend anyone upgrading to 9.3 to review TEC600223 CA Spectrum r9.3
Key Considerations as well as the SRN itself.

As soon as we have a good draft of the H01 release notice, will put it in a KB
for publishing. As of right now, I know of no major show-stopping problems
with 9.3.0 and we do have 3 PTF patches that we've had to create:

9.3.0.PTF_9.3.001
Symptom: The model_name is getting junk data while parsing the byte from
attribute ALARM_ORIGINATING_EVENT This happens when model_name has other than
English name.
Resolution: The API readNullTerminatedString should return internationalized
string.
(259414)

9.3.0.PTF_9.3.002
Symptom: The SpectroSERVER was crashing occasionally in an identified area of
Connection Management code.
Resolution: The SpectroSERVER no longer crashes in the area of Connection
Management code where a problem has been identified and fixed.
(263744, 21573673-1)

9.3.0.PTF_9.3.003
Symptom: Spectrum distributed install fails when using sudo privileges.
Resolution: Spectrum distributed installation will be successful even with the
sudo user.

Hope this helps.

Rene'

A related question to you: CA released 9.3 then weeks later

came up with a 9.2.3 hot fix. Should I be jumping to 9.3 or the

latest 9.2.3 hotfix? (Then to 9.3?)

The knowledge base documents are a good idea BTW.

                                James
