I think you need to wrap the GetEventVariable function call with ToString().

Subject: [spectrum] Procedure and Alarm in 1 Event

All,

I have a trap coming in with 1 varbind only. I want to use that varbind as
Alarm title so I am mapping the varbind to 76620 (0x12b4c) and also as
discriminator .  so far good.

The varbind can have LoWeR cAsE letters and I wanted to convert it to all UPPER
CASE for alarm title. How can I do this in a single Event in EventDisp file. I
have tried the following and these still have non upper case alarm title

0xffff0000 E 20 P "ToUpper ( GetEventVariable( { U 76620 } ) )" A
2,0xffff0000,76620

0xffff0000 E 20 A 2,0xffff0000,76620 P " ToUpper ( GetEventVariable( { U 76620
} ) )"

>From Event Configuration Guide

To add a procedure to an event map, use the following syntax:
<event_code> E <event_severity> <processing_parameters> P <procedure>

<processing_parameters>
Specifies additional event processing behaviors, such as whether the event
generates an alarm, clears one or more alarms, or executes one or more event
rules.
